At launch, Crimson Desert did not feature a Storage Chest, forcing you to find some creative ways to store items for later retrieval, such as selling items to merchants to later repurchase them, or taking advantage of the rest mechanics to make the game transfer dropped items as loot to the warchest.
With patch 1.00.03, however, the game finally received a true Private Storage chest where you can store items directly, addressing one of its biggest pain points.

Where’s the Private Storage Chest and How to Use It
The Private Storage chest can be found inside Kliff’s tent inside the Greymanes camp on Howling Hill, which is unlocked during Chapter 3. To use it you need to:
- NOTE: The Storage Chest has a limit of 240 items which cannot be expanded at the time of writing, so consider donating unwanted items for the camp restoration efforts by speaking with Carl instead of simply storing them.
- Open the inventory menu.
- Drop any item you want to store by pressing Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox).
- Interact with the bed and choose to sleep for at least three hours.
- When you wake up, the game will notify you that the loot has been sent to the chest.
The Supply Chest Exploit
Although it is no longer needed with the introduction of Private Storage, it is still possible to store items in Crimson Desert using an exploit based on a mechanic that usually triggers when clearing a quest to store its rewards.
To use this fun exploit that stretches the possibilities of the game’s sandbox mechanics, follow these steps:
- Approach your Private Storage at the Greymanes camp.
WARNING: Some items cannot be stored in the warchest using this exploit, such as weapons dropped by bosses. If you drop them and go to sleep, you will see the item will be registered as missing. To get them back, you will have to purchase it back from Karl at the camp via the Recover Item option. As such, I advise you to save your game first before attempting this trick.
