Google is giving Slides a more capable AI generation workflow, saying Gemini can now create editable, brand-matched presentations using dynamic layouts tailored to the user’s content. Instead of producing rigid output that needs to be rebuilt by hand, the new approach is meant to keep generated slides usable inside normal editing workflows.
That distinction matters. One of the biggest frustrations with AI presentation tools has been the gap between a visually impressive draft and a file teams can actually refine. By emphasizing editability and style alignment with existing decks, Google is clearly targeting the practical needs of people who create slides for real work rather than one-click demos.
If the feature performs well in daily use, it could become one of the more useful AI utilities inside Workspace. Presentation software has always sat at the intersection of speed and polish, and Google’s latest move suggests it wants Gemini to help with both instead of forcing users to choose one over the other.
